I wanted to post about Nicole Kidman testifying before the House Foreign Relations Subcommittee.

KidmanShe attracted a huge crowd.  I'm sure every male Congressman and Senator wanted to be present.

I think any public woman with an audience as large as hers, can do a world of good in the world-wide fight struggle to end violence against women.  But she could be more honest.  Eyes Wide Shut did not help the cause.

More about her testimony on the flip-side.

 From the Guardian

Kidman told a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee that violence against women was "the most systematic, widespread human rights violation in the world".

But when asked whether the movie industry had "played a bad role" in spreading images of women as sex objects, Kidman said, "Probably." She did add, however, that the industry had also "contributed to solutions".

She also said that she herself chose to avoid such roles. "I can't be responsible for all of Hollywood but I can certainly be responsible for my own career," she said.

perpetuated a very negative image of women.

However, I am happy that she chose to do this. That's called using your celebrity for a very good cause.

She's doing good.

Has she been taken ill or on vacation or a victim of collateral damage during the e-mail wars?

I really miss her, she was the heart and soul of this blog.    :(

according to the email I received.  I miss her too and I sincerely hope she doesn't feel unwanted.

I've tried to contact her but I feel she's serious since the emails are returned to sender.
